The iconic 1810 Ojeman played host to the debut of Long River Sessions: The Ojeman Files, and what better way to launch this new series than with the electrifying Mister Data? Known for their ability to blend introspective storytelling with bold, melodic arrangements, this Houston-based band delivered a performance that felt as intimate as it was cinematic.

A Setlist That Sets the Bar

Mister Data’s setlist for the session showcased the full spectrum of their artistry:

  • "No, I Don’t Think So," an anthemic opener that dives into fractured relationships and emotional closure.

  • "Head Canon in G Minor," a collaborative triumph that experiments with tunings and challenges listeners to rethink memory and perception.

  • "Transporter Room 3," a rousing Star Trek-inspired anthem with deep social commentary rooted in labor rights and solidarity.

  • The YouTube-exclusive "Missing the Metaphor," a hauntingly beautiful reflection on humanity and connection.

Each track offered a glimpse into the band’s creative process, spearheaded by lead singer and songwriter Austin Sepulvedo, whose influences span personal introspection and Star Trek’s exploration of humanity. Joined by Marshall Graves on bass, Jack Gordon on drums, and Ben Murphy on guitar, the band’s dynamic energy captivated both the live crew and listeners tuning in from The Houston Collective Radio.

The Production Behind the Magic

While Mister Data commanded the spotlight, the behind-the-scenes team ensured every moment of the session was captured with precision. Jeremiah Jackson’s expert audio engineering made every note ring clear, while Bleu kept everything running smoothly with talent coordination and video switching. Jaylon Flowers’ lighting design and behind-the-scenes footage brought the visuals to life, and Rico balanced hosting duties with managing the live broadcast to The Houston Collective Radio. As for Masaya—he might be short, but his knack for keeping the cameras rolling and the vibe lively didn’t go unnoticed.
